Just as we spotted the Apacer A1 mSATA SSDs, Biwin launches a set of its own, called Elite Series Mini SATA.

From the get-go, we can safely say that they are faster than Apacer's creations, at 500 MB/s read and 480 MB/s write.

We think Apacer A1 might be better off in the physical and virtual endurance department, given the use of SLC instead of MLC NAND, but we can't say for sure. Biwin says its SSDs have their own wear leveling, ECC and “robust resistance to shock, vibration, dust and other environmental threats.”

Anyway, Biwin reaches the performance thanks to the SandForce SF-2281 controller.

Sales will begin in July, for around $1 per gigabyte, according to the press release. You can find more information on the official product page (via this link).
