Fargo3DPrinting offering a discount on MakerBot 3D printers and scanners

3D printing technology has well and truly got off the ground by this point, which means that vendors can begin experimenting with promotions of all kinds. Fargo3DPrinting decided to see how 3D printing and Bitcoins mesh.

To that end, it is offering a 5% discount on 3D printers and filament if you make your purchase with Bitcoin virtual currency.

Currently, only MakerBot 3D printers are available, like the $2,899 / €2,089 Replicator 5th Generation, and the Replicator 2X, Replicator Mini, and Replicator 2.

The MakerBot Digitizer 3D scanner is part of the lineup as well.

Fargo3DPrinting is optimistic about both 3D printing and Bitcoin, despite how controversial both are.

Currently, a Bitcoin is worth $400 - $600 / €288 - €432, after having gone from $90 / €65 to $1,200 / €865.

People are still divided on whether it's a good idea to use Bitcoin or if it will replace physical money eventually.

By contrast, 3D printing has proven itself. The only controversy is in regard to which fields it can and/or should help first (toys, medicine, surgery, prosthetics, warfare, etc).

Anyway, if you have Bitcoins to spend and want a 3D printer, you'll need to use the code “BITCOIN5” when making a purchase from Fargo3DPrinting.
