Some months ago, BitFenix declared it would soon make its move on the gaming market, and that time has now arrived, with the company bringing out its first PC chassis, a massive full-tower known as Colossus and targeted at enthusiasts and gamers.

When a company describes a chassis as aimed at gamers and enthusiasts, one immediately expects it to have a unique design and, most likely, a host of lights and other aesthetically-enhancing elements.

Sure enough, the Colossus sticks to this trend, using a LED lighting system and a solid construction meant to make it stand out from the fold.

There are two versions, one colored Glacier White and another one in Monolith Black, but both feature the same BitFenix SofTouch Surface treatment (protects against stains).

Another quite convenient design element is the tool-free installation of storage drives and PCI cards.

For those interested in actual specifications, the Colossus has an exposed 5.25-inch bay, up to seven 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives ans support for mini-ITX, mATX, ATX and E-ATX motherboards.

Furthermore, BitFenix set a secured compartment on the top, which provides USB 2.0 and even USB 3.0 ports, in addition to audio jacks, eSATA and a PWM fan controller.

Finally, the 245 x 558 x 582 mm Colossus boasts pre-drilled watercooling holes, at the back, and a 230mm front fan

"With Colossus, we focused on how gamers and PC enthusiasts were interacting with their computers on a daily basis, and crafted a PC chassis that actually helps to enhance their computing experience," said David Jarlestedt, BitFenix Product Manager.

"What we've been able to do is create a case that not only looks striking, but delivers novel features that truly benefit the user in terms of security, control, and performance," he added.

Though not yet available, the BitFenix Colossus will start shipping in September, priced at 159 Euro, which is the equivalent of roughly $169.
