At the end of last month, photos emerged of the hottest teen in pop music right now, Justin Bieber, showing what looked like a bird tattoo on his abdomen. Fans were in disbelief, since The Biebs is only 16 but, according to CeleBuzz, the ink is the real deal – and it even has the photos to prove it.

As Helen Mirren also noted in an older interview, tattoos are no longer the ultimate symbol for rebelliousness they once used to be, which has made her feel nothing but regret for getting one on her hand when she was younger – and drunk. Today, stars get tattoos with as much ease as buying a pair of shoes, but that doesn’t mean that the idea of Bieber also having ink done is one that many can avoid taking to heart.

“When images seeming to depict a bird tattoo on singing sensation Justin Bieber’s stomach first emerged on the Internet, a wave of confusion washed over Bieber Nation. Many questions were asked: Is it even legal for a 16-year-old to get a tattoo? Does this mark on his flesh enhance or detract from the perfection that is Justin Bieber? And, really, a bird? Doesn’t he seem like more of a bumblebee guy?” CeleBuzz writes, clearly targeting the younger segment of its readers, meaning, the Justin Bieber fans.

“But now, dear reader, the mystery has been cleared up. Thanks to this newly released photographic evidence, it can be said with concrete certainty: The Justin Bieber tattoo is real! Check out these shots of the My World singer at Toronto’s Son of a Gun tattoo parlor in March, going under the needle to get the now-verified marking. And lest anyone be alarmed, Justin’s father Jeremy was on hand to monitor the event, as all responsible dads are when their underage kids get their first tattoo,” the same e-zine says.

As per the same source, it seems that the bird tattoo is something specific to the Bieber family, though most members have it on their wrist. This could be a symbol either for freedom or for never allowing dreams to die down, word in the blogosphere says. Unless Justin himself sets the record straight on this, one can’t but speculate.
