Some people aren't very pleased with that

Bioshock was a great game. It was very innovative, it introduced gamers to the idea of free will and it really took the industry by storm with its many philosophical and moral issues. These aspects were presented to the players in many forms, and detailing upon them would only ruin the experience for those who haven't played the game yet – like PlayStation 3 owners, who will receive a version of this great game for their console in late October, only a year after the launch of the Xbox 360 and PC editions.

Although some people said that the final hours of the game were a bit boring and took away the player’s will, recently, in an interview with MTV Multiplayer, senior producer Melissa Miller said that the ending would be the same on the PS3 version.

"When you get a chance to work on something that was really creative you get the temptation to re-do things. We chose not to. We wanted to respect it. The things we wanted to add were things that would complement what was created." said Miller.

The complements she was referring to are a lot of tweaks and features as well as a new and harder difficulty setting, entitled Survivor, which came as a reply to the people who argued that the game wasn't hard enough. Challenge rooms will also be introduced in this version, with the players going up against characters from the game. This feature is meant to keep their interest alive and comes to improve the small replay value of the game, with no multiplayer aspect, which is why gamers would often uninstall it the second they exited the game.

All in all, we can't really say that the ending is that bad, although there’s a chance many of you might expect something more, seeing as how the game offers a great experience. I think that the developers made a good decision not interfering with the ending, because it really would've made the Xbox 360 and PC owners of the game really mad.
