BioShock Infinite, the newest title set to arrive in the BioShock franchise has just received a lot more details about its gameplay, including a 10-minute video with the beginning portion of the future game, and a batch of new screenshots.

The developer of BioShock Infinite, Irrational Games, kept the title a close guarded secret for quite some time, but this new spiritual successor of the original BioShock is now being detailed left and right.

After hearing a lot of previews and impressions from various media outlets, as well as a short announcement trailer last month, BioShock fans can finally get to see the gameplay of Infinite, courtesy of a 10-minute video released by Irrational Games.

Even though the video was supposed to be exclusive to Xbox Live subscribers, it was quickly leaked onto online video hosting services like YouTube, so that everyone can get to see how BioShock Infinite will play.

In the video below, the main protagonist, Booker DeWitt, sets off to find the mysterious Elizabeth.

During his short journey, the government agent explores a tiny bit of the floating city of Columbia, and learns some interesting tricks, including Infinite's version of BioShock's plasmids, elixirs.

The video also showcases how the protagonist can use rail systems between the floating buildings of Columbia to get across the city and, in some cases, fight off enemies.

Needless to say, the game looks extremely impressive as Irrational completely upgraded the BioShock graphics engine to polish the steampunk atmosphere of Infinite.

Besides the video below, a batch of new screenshots were also revealed, showing off Elizabeth, her impressive powers, a few enemies from within the game and the aforementioned rail mechanic.

Check all of them out below and then share your thoughts about this new entry in the successful BioShock saga.

BioShock Infinite is currently scheduled for release in 2012, for the PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
