Bing has spread its wings wide “joining the fleet” of Angry Birds, with Microsoft inking a deal with Rovio, the makers of the hugely popular gaming title centered on a good, old fashion avian smack down. Microsoft reveals that it has sponsored an animated video series the first two installments of which can be watched embedded at the bottom of this article.

The remaining two videos will be published on the Bing YouTube channel, and I’ll make sure to provide an update when that happens.

“You can watch as the pigs scheme creative ways to get their hooves on the treasured eggs via a 4-part animated video series sponsored by Bing,” revealed Wibe Wagemans, from the Bing Mobile team.

However, the video animated series is just part of the deal. The software giant has also convinced Rovio to show Bing a little love, and integrate the search / decision engine into the Angry Birds gaming experience.

Gamers will be able to take advantage of Bing in order to ace the levels of the birds vs. pigs saga.

“For a limited period, Angry Birds will also feature search integration with Bing providing over a hundred clues to speed you through the levels and help squash the porcine thieves,” Wagemans added.

“Featuring Bing Image Search, Bing Maps, and Bing Shopping, the videos show Angry Birds fans how they can advance in the game, featuring the lovable Angry Birds characters.”

Rovio already confirmed that Angry Birds will be ported to some of Microsoft’s platforms, including Xbox and Windows Phone 7.

According to the Redmond company, owners of Windows Phone 7 devices as well as Xbox gamers (via Xbox LIVE) will be able to play Angry Birds starting this spring.

“Angry Birds is the #1 paid iphone app of all time and currently has 25 million users in the US, with over 30 million downloads of the popular Angry Birds app for iphone, Android, and iPad,” Wagemans added.

“This is the first product integration Angry Birds has done on the popular platform and Bing is excited to help the millions of Angry Birds fans make it to new levels.”
