The application was initially launched on Android and iOS platforms

Microsoft and Windows Phone users continue to complain about the fact that 90% of the applications and games that get released on mobile phones are only available for other platforms.

Most developers prefer to bring their applications on Android and/or iOS, thus skipping Microsoft's Windows Phone. Sometimes, their apps eventually arrive on Windows Phone at some point, but much later and they aren't usually on par in terms of quality with their counterparts from Android and iOS.

Well, it looks like Microsoft did the same thing, even though the Redmond-based company doesn't like how most developers are treating Windows Phone.

Back in January, Microsoft released the Bing Rewards application, but instead of making it available to Windows Phone users first, it offered Android and iOS users the chance to take advantage of its features.

Windows Phone users were forced to continue to earn rewards via web, just because Microsoft skipped its own mobile platform from the launch of the Bing Rewards.

Well, it looks like six months after the initial release of Bing Rewards on Android and iOS platforms, Microsoft has announced that the application is now available for Windows Phone 8 users as well.

With Bing Rewards, Windows Phone 8 users will be able to manage their accounts, earn and redeem credits, enter various sweepstakes, as well as find other ways to earn each day.

Users will be able to pin the application to their start screen in order to be able to track their available credits and complete daily offers faster and easier. You can redeem rewards from several Microsoft partners, including Amazon, Starbuck, Xbox, Fandango and many more.

“Bing Rewards was designed to help you discover ways Bing can help you do the things that are most important to you. You can earn credits by searching the web every day with Bing and then redeem them for apps and games purchases at the Windows Store on your Windows 8.1 PC or Windows Phone 8.

You can also redeem for popular gift cards from top brands or donate your credits to a local school or charity of your choice,” said Alex Danskin, Bing Rewards Team.

You can now download Bing Rewards for Windows Phone 1.0.0.6 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up. Keep in mind that the Bing Rewards app is only available in the United States.
