Exploring a new city can certainly be a challenge for travellers, especially if the time they have available is limited.

While the web contains a wealth of information on any destination you can think of, discovering it using nothing more than traditional queries entered in “ten blue links” search engines can prove overwhelming, especially with the overload of content in results, the majority of which, useless.

This becomes especially hard when users look for the latest info and updates on the must-visit places in a city they’re visiting, as opposite to obsolete travel-guide style recommendations published a few years ago.

With Attractions, Bing is now capable of offering the soul of major cities worldwide on a silver search platter.

“Planning a trip? With Bing's new attractions pages you can find everything you're looking for in one spot,” revealed Phanindra Kanumuri, from the Bing Team.

“Bing pulls together details on top city attractions like the Space Needle or the Smithsonian so you can quickly find the information you’re looking for. Everything you need to plan your excursion - including reviews, events and photos - are now in one place.

“To ensure you have up-to-the-minute information, we are teaming closely with leading content providers including Frommers, TripAdvisor, WCities and Zvents.”

According to the software giant, data on in excess of 50,000 attractions worldwide has already been integrated into the decision engine.

Better yet, Bing is capable of tailoring the query results to the location of the user leveraging the search engine, and provide a contextual view of top attractions in a specific city.

At the same time, a plethora of filters are available on the spot to users, enabling them to quickly narrow down their search to the most relevant results possible.
