Sheraton guests will be able to take advantage of a new “concierge” through a collaboration between Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Microsoft. Bing will be at the core of a new integrated online experience which will help Sheraton visitors easily access a variety of information, involving their hotel or the local area. This will be possible via the Sheraton Guest Portal powered by Bing. According to the Redmond company, Starwood Hotels and Resorts has worked to include the new system in the “Link@SheratonSM experienced with Microsoft” worldwide, on top of being featured in the in-room web access. Of course, in addition to the Bing search/decision engine, Sheraton guests will also have at their disposal data from Bing Maps, making them feel right at home in the hotel’s surroundings.

“As part of the new online experience, you will find constantly updated information specific to each Sheraton location, such as local maps and the top search results for area restaurants, attractions, special events and services. It will be like having a personal concierge in the palm of your hand,” revealed Kristin Meldahl, from the Bing team.

But at the same time, Starwood Hotels and Resorts has taken the sollaboration with Microsoft one step further. Sheraton Hotels guests will be able to enjoy no less than 400 redesigned lobbies in various locations around the world, on top of the new Link@Sheraton experience. The new lobbies are set up to allow visitors to take advantage of the technology offered for their work, but also for leisure, including connecting to their friends via social networks.

“Now when you stay at a Sheraton you will be able to use Bing to make smarter, faster decisions whether you’re looking for a local cafe, printing your boarding pass, looking for the nearest entertainment, checking on the local weather, reading the top news stories or discovering more about your hotel, such as the restaurant hours and spa treatments,” Meldahl added.
