Microsoft has teamed up with Ellen Degeneres in order to help spread some holiday cheer via its search/decision engine. Online shoppers now have available the“12 Days of Giveaways,” brought to them by The Ellen Degeneres Show and Bing Cashback. According to Microsoft, all that users need do is watch the Ellen show and enter the sweepstakes in order to get a chance at winning the prizes lined up for them.

“What better way to get in the holiday spirit then some fun giveaways and shopping! If you have seen Ellen Degeneres’s annual 12 days of Giveaways that is starting today you know that it is sure to bring you holiday cheer and great ideas for holiday gifts,” revealed Kristin Meldahl, from the Bing team.

12 Days of Giveaways was launched on December 3rd, 2009, but users still have plenty of chances to win as the sweepstakes have only advanced to the second day at the time of this article. Microsoft notes that there are an additional 11 days of giveaways. Those who wish to participate need to navigate to the Ellen website and sign up in the form at the bottom of the page. The contest is open only to US residents.

“Each day Ellen will give away some very cool gifts to her studio audience and this year, the Bing team has partnered with the Ellen show to highlight the hottest picks for this year, places where you can get great deals on the items online (sorry…not for free here), and an easy way to find more great deals for your holiday shopping. Ellen will choose new items every day until December 18th,” Meldahl added. “We hope for those of us not lucky enough to be in Ellen’s audience that bringing you deals on her favorite products can be the next best thing.”

But even if Ellen Degeneres doesn’t deliver, online shoppers can still take advantage of the offerings that Bing Cashback and participating online shops are offering. Bing Cashback account owners that buy products online through Microsoft’s search/decision engine will receive cashback payments from the online retailers that have partnered with Microsoft for promotions. Signing up for Bing Cashback is, of course, free.
