15-year-old daughter of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin is all grown up, glamorous

This seems like the most cliché thing to say, but time really seems to fly by fast. Proof of that is in a new photo of Bindi Irwin, the daughter of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, who was killed in 2006 after he was stung by a stingray in the heart.

Bindi turns 16 this year and she made a rare red carpet appearance the other day at the Australian Academy Cinema Television Arts (AACTA) Awards 2014, which took place in Sydney.

Attached to this article is a photo from the event.

Bindi has remained in the public eye since her father’s death, taking over his legacy, but she doesn’t really do red carpet. This means that, whenever she does make one such appearance, she also makes headlines.

“The Australia Zoo conservationist, who turns 16 in July, looked all grown up and glam in a short, black-and-white floral dress, which she paired with black motorcycle boots. Her long blonde hair hung in waves past her shoulders, and she had on just a hint of shimmery eye shadow,” Us Weekly writes.

The tab even goes as far as to say that Bindi seemed almost “unrecognizable.” We wouldn’t say this is entirely accurate, but we do agree on that she’s grown into a gorgeous young lady. And, is it us or does she bear a resemblance to pop country singer Taylor Swift? The comparison is a favorable one, of course.

As noted above, Bindi has vouched to continue her dad’s amazing work, while also doing some appearances in film and television.

Before she rang in the New Year, she took to social media to say that she planned to make 2014 an even more fulfilling year.

“Celebrating the last day of 2013, what an amazing year we've had. So excited to welcome 2014 for even more adventures,” she wrote on Twitter. “2014. I'm ready! A year of happiness and making a difference in the world.”
