14 DAY TRIAL // If we’re to believe a tweet television and media icon Larry King posted on his feed a few days ago, Billy Ray Cyrus is not yet done with capitalizing on his biggest hit ever, the catchy “Achy Breaky Heart.” Assuming you’re too young to know it, I have embedded it in full above.
On the last day of 2013, King was on Twitter as usual and, among the things he said, he also dropped this bomb, “Just spoke with @billyraycyrus on the phone - he's recorded a hip-hop version of ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ - he's excited about it & so am I!”
For some reason, this went unnoticed for days and was just picked up by the mainstream media hours ago. The hilarity and, for a select few, the excitement has been ongoing ever since.
Can you imagine Billy Ray actually rapping the song above?! From that, the questions just keep on piling: will his daughter Miley, who has also been experimenting with hip-hop on her latest album, be making a cameo? Will Billy Ray change something about the words to make them more… rappable?
But, most importantly, will that glorious mullet be making a comeback as it was in the official video, for this new version? Can you imagine how cool this would be?
Of course, there’s also the chance that King is just messing with us, which would be a shame, to be honest.
