Bill Nye the Science Guy injured himself during the last Dancing With the Stars show when he tripped and fell at the end of the Paso Doble. He’s been hospitalized and, though he’s in “good spirits” right now, he doesn’t know if he’ll come back to the dance floor.

Above is the video of the Paso Doble that led to the hospitalization. You can see that, towards the end, he falls but later says he’s ok, he didn’t hurt himself.

Turns out he was just putting on a brave face for the cameras.

Nye is now “in good spirits and is really hoping he can continue to compete,” his rep says. Nye himself tells People magazine that he “stepped on the cuff of these fancy slacks and I went down; we'll do R.I.C.E. – we'll do rest, ice, compression, elevation [and] see where we get.”

On his Instagram, Nye has already informed his fans and DWTS supporters that he has a partially torn ligament and he’s still waiting for the green light from doctors to continue on the show.
