Just your average chairman...

Microsoft Co-Founder and Chairman, Bill Gates got alphabetized. Gates is virtually lost among a luxuriant collection of resources that the Redmond Company has made available for the press. Via Microsoft PressPass - Image Gallery Microsoft is delivering a collection of images with senior Microsoft executives. However, Bill Gates is by no means treated any differently than other company top executives.

The first name on the list is J Allard, Corporate Vice President, Design and Development, Entertainment and Devices Division, one row down Steve Ballmer, Chief Executive Officer, that has managed to make it onto the first page only because his name starts with the letter "B."

Gates however was not as fortunate. Microsoft's Co-Founder has been quietly stacked under G. Firmly between Paul Flessner, Senior Vice President, Server Applications and Grant George, Corporate Vice President, Office - Testing and Operations. Gates has Gerri Elliott, Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Public Sector above him and Alexander Gounares, Corporate Vice President, Corporate Strategy.

It is funny how Bill Gates, a man who requires no additional introduction apart from his name, has the following title: Chairman. That's it! Bill Gates - Chairman! On a page where the shortest title, with the exception of Gates' is at least five words long, the Chairman seems almost anodyne. But he is not, quite the opposite. It is simply one aspect of his transition out of his day-to-day role at Microsoft that will end in mid 2008, a little over a year from now.

Still, Bill Gates is not retired as of yet. In fact, he will attend the Eleventh Annual Microsoft CEO Summit: The CEO Agenda, where he will "discuss technology megatrends and innovations that will shape the future of business and society. The Microsoft CEO Summit is a leadership forum designed to bring the world's business leaders together to discuss social, political, economic, demographic and technological trends shaping the global business landscape"
