More than 20 women have come forward in recent months, accusing legendary comedian Bill Cosby of drugging them and raping them in encounters that took place as far back as 3 decades ago. They never dared to speak up on it until now, they say, while Cosby’s team fights back that they’re just out for a quick paycheck.

Cosby, on the other hand, has hardly said anything about this, other than a couple of statements maintaining his innocence. He continued with his comedy tour, but he stopped doing interviews to promote it, for the obvious reason: not wanting to have to answer a question about the accusations made against him.

Embedded below is a video he recorded for the fans: it’s his first time in front of a camera since the scandal. The video, released by ABC News, comes with a message from Cosby’s publicist that says, “Dear Fans: I hope you enjoy my wonderful video message that’s filled with laughter. Hey, hey, hey, I’m far from finished.”

Cosby has no intention of saying anything more on the topic of the allegations of rape, since he’s waiting for the lawsuits against him to finalize. However, industry insiders believe this video is his first step towards image rehabilitation: a strange, uncommon but probably effective (with his loyal fans) move.
