After the much mediated cameo from Mel Gibson – that was eventually axed amidst protests from the cast – another huge name has been attached to “The Hangover 2”: that of former US President Bill Clinton.

People magazine reports that Clinton has already shot the scenes for his brief cameo in between business meetings in Bangkok – and TMZ has the pictures to prove that this isn’t just a rumor.

“The former president [will share] screen-time with the fun-loving guys in The Hangover 2, now filming in Thailand, a Clinton source confirms to People,” the magazine writes.

“Clinton, who’ll play himself in the comedy, shot his brief appearance on Saturday in Bangkok, where part of the production takes place. He was in the capital city to deliver a speech on clean energy,” People further reports.

It turns out that the sequel to the highly successful first “Hangover” film, also directed by Todd Philips, will up the ante in terms of cameos, since the first only had a major one, that of former boxing champ Mike Tyson.

Initially, it was announced that Mel Gibson would make a cameo in the film, in what was billed an attempt at making a comeback in the good graces of the public with a comedic role.

After the cast and, most notably Zach Galifianakis, protested about the choice, Mel Gibson was reportedly “dropped” from the film and Liam Neeson was brought in as a replacement, even though director Philips never openly admitted to it.

Last time we heard about what was supposed to be Mel’s cameo, back in October, the actor was supposedly fuming at being kicked out like that, since no one seemed to have a problem with Tyson, a convicted felon, back in the first film.

“He doesn’t understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user who turned his life around, was given a chance while Mel was kicked to the curb. Everybody deserves a second chance,” a source was saying for the New York Post, as we also informed you.
