A veterinarian aiming to convince the world that Bigfoot is real has been proved wrong by a DNA examination.

Texas veterinarian and genetics researcher Melba Ketchum put together a study analyzing traces of DNA which allegedly belonged to an unknown creature.

Ketchum wrote in the study that the traces came from a cross between a homo sapiens and a primate. As reported, the work did not include further research by other sources.

Eric Berger of the Houston Chronicle sent the DNA traces to a separate lab and the results are in – they belong to an opossum.

“I met my geneticist friend this past week and I asked about the Bigfoot DNA. It was, he told me, a mix of opossum and other species. No find of the century,” he writes.
