The study will reveal how humans adapt to closed spacecraft environments

Officials with Las Vegas, Nevada-based Bigelow Aerospace announce new job opportunities with the company. The part-time positions are opened to United States citizens or permanent residents who want to spend a set amount of time inside a close spacecraft environment, as part of astronaut simulations.

The study will take place at the company's sprawling facility in North Las Vegas, and will only feature mature and well-adjusted adult individuals. The company says it will not discriminate applicants on color, race, religion, gender or national origins.

Preferred background include crew systems sciences, engineering, biology, behavior, nursing, or social or psychological sciences. Selected participants will spend between 8 and 24 hours inside Bigelow's spacecraft, and undergo constant monitoring through these periods.

While inside the simulation chamber, participants will eat, sleep, exercise, and undergo other activities related to astronaut training. Bigelow will use the data collected on analyze the social, environmental and psychological factors that affect spacecraft crews in space. The company seeks to build inflatable space stations like the ones in the image above.
