Visitors to Saint Louis Zoo in Missouri, US can now feast their eyes on a baby Coquerel’s sifaka that has recently made its public debut at this facility.

Keepers say that the tiny creature was born earlier this year, on January 21, to mother Almirena and dad Caligula, Zoo Borns reports.

The baby sifaka is a girl, and its name is Kapika. Keepers say that, in Malagasy, this moniker means “peanut,” the same source details.

The adorable creature's mom has had three other offspring before giving birth to it, hence the fact that it is experienced enough to properly look after this little rascal.

I don't know about you, but I for one have to admit that the look on this young sifaka's face has really made my day. I guess this is because its big eyes make it look as if it were perpetually surprised.

For those unaware, Coquerel’s sifakas are a species of lemurs native to Madagascar. According to conservationists, the species is now in danger of going extinct.

This is chiefly because humans have destroyed a large portion of their natural habitat either in order to make room for farmland, or to obtain timber.
