It was kind of a no-brainer for CBS, that extended a vote of confidence to its Emmy-winning show “The Big Bang Theory,” by approving three more seasons, bringing its air time through the 2016-2017 TV season.

CBS Chairman Nina Tassler explained the network's decision by saying, “Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and The Big Bang Theory is the biggest comedy force on television,” when she announced the news of the multi-year renewal for the sitcom, according to Aceshowbiz.

The statement she gave added, “We're proud to work with and showcase the incredible talents of Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and this amazing cast every week.”

For the “Big Bang Theory” team and cast, this marks the second time they get renewed for three more seasons, a big vote of confidence for the parent network and also good news for the fans of the bookish group of scientists.

For the cast made up of Jim Parsons, John Galecki and Kaley Cuoco among others, this is also good news, as they are soon expected to negotiate new contracts with some hefty salary increases. The remaining cast members, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are also said to be looking for a raise but will negotiate together, while Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch have already signed new deals with WBTV.
