The elevator fight incident also seems to have put a dent in their musical reputation

Here is definitive proof that a scandal can ruin a perfectly good career if you're not careful and don't do damage control. Beyonce and Jay Z enjoyed a reputation that was as close to royalty in the musical industry as one can hope, but it only took an elevator fight caught on video and some divorce rumors to deal their latest string of concerts a heavy blow.

Radar is reporting that their upcoming On The Run tour, which was supposed to be a massive deal for them, seeing as how they would have made joint performances, is being affected in terms of ticket sales.

After the initial announcement of a collaboration tour was received with much enthusiasm by fans and people in the industry, ticket sales are now said to be less than desirable, which can only be explained in regard to the numerous scandals that have plagued the couple.

When the video trailer for the tour came out, people's jaws dropped on the floor. The clip was made to look like it was the trailer for a gangster movie and it starred several Hollywood A-listers. For this reasons, fans demanded that the two singers actually do the movie for real, even setting up petitions.

One industry insider reveals that there are still tens of thousands of tickets available with ticket distributers for the On The Run tour, particularly for the concerts taking place in Miami on July 25, in Atlanta on July 15, and New Jersey on July 12.

Previous experience indicates that all of these American metropolises usually sell out when artists like Beyonce and Jay Z come to perform, but this time this was not the case. Examples proving this theory are Justin's Timberlake's recent 20/20 tour and Madonna's MDMA.

Most of the people connected in some form with the tour think that, when Beyonce's sister Solange snapped and kicked at Jay Z in a New York hotel elevator some time ago, she put a really big dent in the happy family image that the two singers were enjoying up to that point, and despite their best efforts, they haven't really been able to recover.

“To the public, Beyonce and Jay Z appear to have it all. But behind close doors, they’re not as happy as people think they are,” says an insider who adds, “It’s overload. The public has been left with a sour taste in their mouth because of the elevator fight and all the information that leaked about Jay and B’s relationship afterward.”

Fortunately for the couple, there is still some time to repair the damage and sell some more tickets until the concerts are scheduled to take place, so that the final numbers aren't that bad.
