14 DAY TRIAL // The plot thickens: after the leak of the grainy footage showing Solange putting a major beatdown on Jay Z in the presence of Beyonce, who did nothing to stop the fight, Beyonce has posted, all at once, a bunch of older photos of herself and her sister, apparently siding with her.
If you also take into account the theory that Beyonce and Jay are drifting apart and probably gearing up for divorce, seeing how she’s having her wedding tattoo lasered off, this could mean that, whatever started the fight in the elevator, she’s with Solange on this one.
Let’s recap: earlier this week, the aforementioned video leaked. It had been shot a little over a week back, as the three stars were about to leave a MET Gala afterparty and were riding an elevator to their cars.
The video didn’t have audio, so no one knows what started the fight. However, it left no room for doubt that it was Solange who had the bigger issue with Jay Z, since she was the one who started getting physical.
While she punched, kicked, and hit Jay with her purse, Beyonce looked impassibly on and didn’t intervene until the very end, talking to Jay Z and thus avoiding an escalation. It was as if she was siding with Solange, as if she was agreeing with what she was yelling at Jay and even perhaps with the way she was treating him.
After this episode, Solange left by a car and Jay and Bey took a different ride. Days later, the two sisters were on a private plane together, off to Costa Rica, where good friend Kelly Rowland tied the knot with her fiancé Tim Witherspoon. They served as bridesmaids in the ceremony, reports online say.
Sometime in between the fight and the moment the video emerged online, Solange deleted almost all of the photos she had of Beyonce from her Instagram, which sparked rumors that she was desperate to distance herself from the family and all the drama.
This brings us to yesterday’s gesture from Beyonce, when she posted several shots of just herself and Solange to her own Instagram account. She also included a photo of herself with Rihanna at the MET Gala, which many believe is an indirect denial of reports that the now-infamous fight was caused by Jay’s too-close relationship with the Barbadian beauty.
One of the Solange pics Beyonce uploaded is also available above. Some believe this is Beyonce’s way of saying she’s sticking by her sister in all this mess and even a “confirmation” that her once-beautiful romance with Jay Z is over.
