Singer Beyonce and husband Jay-Z will become first-time parents in February when she’ll give birth. The news comes from Beyonce herself, who recently sat down for an interview with Sunday Night HD.

While the interview is now getting a lot of press because of something that seems to hint that she’s using a prosthetic baby bump to fake her pregnancy (more on this here), if one is to ignore conspiracy theories, one must focus on what Beyonce has to say.

She confirms for the first time that she’s due in February. She is also more open than ever about pregnancy and explains how come she and Jay put having a baby off for so long.

“It’s already has changed my life. My husband and I have been together for 10 years, all of my twenties… since I was 20 and we just feel like it’s time,” the singer says.

“I’m very grateful that God has blessed me with the biggest gift that any human being can have. I think because I’ve accomplished a lot of things for myself and I really know who I am,” Beyonce adds.

The timing was just perfect too, she stresses.

“I didn’t rush into anything and I feel like if it’s any time, right now is the time and I’m so happy,” she gushes.

Of course, having a baby will mean putting her career second for a change, something that Beyonce never did until now.

She describes herself as a workaholic and she can’t remember any other instance save one when she needed a break: it coincided with her decision to part ways with her father as her manager.

“It was a bit overwhelming. I was a bit numb and kind of lost. I never even realized I needed a year off. It didn’t matter where I was, I was in so many different places that it was like ‘Okay, I’m just on the show, I’m performing, back in a hotel, ‘Where am I?’ ‘What city am I in?’’,” she says.

“I’m doing the same thing and it became a ritual. It was a bit of an emotion in me that was missing because the world is so much bigger than the world screaming your name and that becomes almost like a fake world,” Beyonce continues.

She decided to take 1 year off work and, at the same time, to make sure that, when she’d get back, she’d find something new: so she told her father that she wanted another manager.

“It was scary, but it empowered me,” she concludes.
