According to a recent research

It's well know the fact that our computers are more and more affected by malicious files but when we have exact numbers, it is even more frightening. Security company MessageLabs conducted a special research to observe the evolution of the threats in May 2007, revealing that our systems are becoming more and more vulnerable. The most important finding is that a 11 hours spam campaign sent approximately 10.000 spam messages to computers from all around the world and, according to MessageLabs, it represented approximately 75 percent of the entire amount of unauthorized malicious messages.

"This month the bad guys continued with their aggressive attacks by developing new tactics to fly under the radar and cause the most damage," said Mark Sunner, Chief Security Analyst, MessageLabs. "With the increase in spam spikes and new techniques with image spam, it is crucial for businesses to take a multi-layered security approach among email, Web and IM to protect their employees and their systems completely from these malicious attacks."

According to the research, Israel is the country that delivers the biggest amount of spam messages with 61.6 percent. India is the nation that earned the first position in virus distribution with 32.6 percent but recorded a 0.09 fall in this month.

The Internet is not a safe place anymore and this is proved by more and more security advisories that bring lots of new threats in the spotlights. At this time, there are a lot of security solutions available out there but none of them managed to prove 100 percent functionality so we're probably even more vulnerable than we think.

Take for example the antivirus solutions that are meant to protect our computers and discover all kinds of threats. Most of them were already the subjects of security advisories because they included flaws and vulnerabilities that could invite hackers into our systems and reveal our information to unauthorized eyes.
