Juniper Networks, dealing in high-performance networking, announced this week their UAC 2.1 (Unified Access Control) to meet the evolving access control and security requirements of high-performance businesses. This solution is going to help cut both the costs and the complexity of securing access to networks and applications. It comes with access control, visibility and monitoring of applications and users.

"Juniper Networks is demonstrating a strong understanding of the challenges enterprise IT is facing today when looking to roll out network access control to protect their information assets and more efficiently maintain regulatory compliance," said Jeff Wilson, principal analyst for network security at Infonetics Research.

"Juniper UAC 2.1 improves security policy enforcement for a dynamic set of users and devices across the extended enterprise, enabling enterprise IT organizations to take a proactive stance to mitigate threats, more efficiently maintain regulatory compliance and reduce administration inefficiencies that increase costs and impact productivity," said Sanjay Beri, vice president, Access Solutions at Juniper Networks. "Our open, standards-based UAC offering provides enterprises with a simple, flexible access control solution that enables a phased approach to deployment, and protects customers' previous IT investments."

UAC 2.1 comes with a lot of new features, like Coordinated Threat Control, Identity-enabled Profiler, Unmanageable Device Support, Advanced Security Assessment, Heterogeneous Endpoint Support and Simplified Deployment.

The UAC 2.1 software release will be available worldwide at the end of this month. The best part about it is the fact that if you're already a UAC customer and your maintenance contracts are still active, then you get this for free! Otherwise, you can get it starting at $5,000 for 100 computers. If you want more info about where you can get this product, then just click on this link.
