The infamous armor costs double

Bethesda has been getting a lot of great publicity for its Fallout 3 title, which even gained the coveted Game Developers Choice Award for Game of the Year. But let's not forget that the studio was also responsible for another great RPG, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which revolutionized the whole genre.

It was also the protagonist of a very memorable situation, as one of the first pieces of DLC released on the Xbox 360 Marketplace was Horse Armor, which wasn't very useful and also cost a lot of money. Now, in order to mark the third anniversary of the infamous DLC, Bethesda has announced that all downloadable content will be available for download half-price, including expansions like the Shivering Isles or Knights of the Nine. That is, all DLC except Horse Armor, which will be retailing at double its usual price or 200 MS Points.

“In celebration of the arrival of April,” said Bethesda's Pete Hines, “the wackiness of April Fool's Day, and the upcoming 3rd anniversary of the release of Horse Armor (Friday, April 3), we are pleased to announce that for the next week all Oblivion DLC for Xbox 360 is half price, except for Horse Armor, which is twice as much as usual.”

A very nice move from the company, which shows that it hasn't forgotten to have fun and which marks a situation that attracted a lot of negative feedback from the community, as the horses were very common and if one died, you could always get another one. If you haven't purchased anything for your Xbox 360 copy of Oblivion, now is the best time to go back and do some more quests in the new areas. Also, it will certainly be very interesting to see if anyone even buys the Horse Armor now that is has a double price.
