Besides writing good articles, there is another way to make users come back to your blog: use interesting plugins, plugins that will make the navigation easier. If you are a new user of Wordpress, finding the perfect plugin for your blog is very difficult. So I will present in this article a few plugins that your blog should include.

The most used plugin by almost every blog admin is Akismet. Akismet is the best anti-spam plugin for Wordpress. When a new comment, trackback, or pingback comes to your blog, it is submitted to the Akismet web service which runs hundreds of tests on the comment and returns a thumbs up or thumbs down. Akismet is free for personal use and you can take your free API key from here. Against spam, you can also use Bad Behavior which complements other link spam solutions by acting as a gatekeeper, preventing spammers from ever delivering their junk, and in many cases, from ever reading your site in the first place. So you can use Akismet and Bad Behavior for extra protection against spam.

Thanks to Web 2.0 now we have tags. As you know, a tag is a relevant keyword or term associated with or assigned to a piece of information as a whole or only to a part of it. Ultimate Tag Warrior allows you to add tags either through the Write Post page in wordpress in a tag box, on posts using an AJAX box, and in posts using special syntax from external editors.

The worst nightmare for every admin is losing the database. So another plugin you should install is WordPress Database Backup. This plugin benefits of the WordPress cron system and it can setup your backups to occur at almost any imaginable frequency. If you want to generate a XML-Sitemap compliant sitemap of your blog, use Google Sitemap Generator. This plugin will generate a sitemap for homepage, posts, static pages, categories and archive pages so Google will know how to crawl your blog and where to find everything you want to be found.

If you don't want to make your address public, but you want to be contacted by users, use a contact form. The solution for this is WordPress Contact Form with Spam Protection. It creates a contact form on your blog, through which your readers can contact you.
