The handset is unnamed so far

Benq has recently revealed a series of concept mobile phones. The most impressive from the bunch is a yet unnamed touchscreen handset that is pictured here.

It comes with a rather large display and uses a sliding control panel for changing its control method. By bringing the pad to the middle, the interface is converted into a traditional phone design and when the user slides it back, it provides extra space for videos and other files, offering a better viewing experience, very much like in the case of the iPhone.

Other features the concept comes with were not revealed, but as far as one can tell, it was designed with a great multimedia experience in mind. Its design is not bad at all, and in a way, it offers what the iPhone doesn't which is the option to use a standard numeric keypad if the touchscreen interface proves to be inconvenient at any time.

At the same time, it doesn't compromise the viewing experience by eliminating the large touchscreen either. While there's no information that would point to this device becoming an actual product, it does point to the company's future design direction. This would not be the first amazingly good looking concept phone Benq has presented.

One of its previous concepts, the Black Box, came with a minimalistic design, featured a large touchscreen with an interface that changed according to what functions its owner would rather use. However, unfortunately, not many (if any at all) of the concepts presented by the company have made it out of the concept stage and into shops so far.
