Earlier this week, fan-favorite Tom Hiddleston did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and nominated, among others, his friend Benedict Cumberbatch, which meant that he had only 24 hours to comply. Because Cumberbatch took longer than that, he’s now delivering a video that most definitely makes up for his tardiness.

That’s because he does the Challenge no less than 6 times, being doused with an entire bucket full of ice water in a variety of outfits and environments. Yes, for his millions of female fans, he also included one time when he’s shirtless.

Cumberbatch nominates Harvey Weinstein, Kylie Minogue and Louis Hamilton for the Challenge next, but also takes his time explaining its purpose, what ALS is and how people watching can do something for a good cause. That’s more than many others did in their videos, and his effort is commendable.

The idea behind the Ice Bucket Challenge is that, once you’re nominated, you can either pour ice water over yourself and capture it on camera or donate money. Once the deed is done, you get to nominate 3 or 4 of your friends to do the same within 24 hours.

Most celebrities did the Challenge to raise awareness, but many also donated money, while urging others to do the same. No word yet if Cumberbatch is among the latter, but at least he made his video into a bona-fide PSA, so he gets extra credit for that.
