It is rumored that BenQ Mobile will roll out next month a portable Bluetooth enabled speaker system that will be compact, coming with reachable batteries and an AC adaptor.

Reghardware reported, after viewing a series of commercials, that the Sound Set Bluetooth IMS-100 will not be an entirety innovative system, but will provide an enhanced sound quality as well as a futuristic design. Unfortunately, the company didn't reveal more details regarding its forth-coming product.

But the speaker market welcomed last month a really interesting product, which resembles the gadgets found in SF movies.

NXT was the maker which developed the first front projection screen using NXT's SoundVu technology to produce sound directly from the screen itself - the ASS-60AK Speaker Screen from Authentic Ltd.

NXT's SoundVu technology enables the projection screen to become a loudspeaker by 'exciting' the surface. Furthermore, the vibrations are undetectable to the naked eye, so image quality is preserved while producing high quality sound. But what is really amazing is that this plain looking projection screen - the ASS-60AK - is able to deliver the vocal, or centre channel, of a surround sound system.

Because the Speaker Screen can fit anywhere, as it can be 'folded', and because it offers an enhanced performance, it can be a good alternative for a commercial cinema on a smaller scale, such as small theatres, businesses and home theatre aficionados.

The ASS-60AK Speaker Screen is already available in Japan at a suggested price of ?59,800 (about $520).
