BenQ is gearing up to introduce a number of new LED-backlit LCD monitors that aim to dominate the market through their ultra slim frames, high image quality and advanced energy efficiency. Over the following months, the company will launch new V Series LCD displays with sizes of 18.5 inches, 21.5 inches, 23 inches and 24 inches. All these monitors will sport a very high contrast ratio and the Senseye Human Vision technology which “amplifies image richness, clarity, and depth, even for the darkest scenes.”

The exact range of products includes the 18.5-inch V920 and V920P models, the 21.5 inch V2220, V2220P, V2220H and V2220HP displays, the 23-inch V2320 model and the 24-inch V2420 and V2420H monitors. The 18.5-inch displays are the slimmest of the lot, with only 14mm, but the others are not exactly thick either, measuring 15mm each. All products have a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1 (1000:1 static ratio) and a brightness of 250 cd/m2. In addition, the maximum resolution of all monitors is 1920 x 1080 pixels, with the exception of the V920 and V920P which are capable of 1366 x 768.

“Bold, dynamic images rendered in razor-sharp, blur-free clarity testify to the monitors’ zero light leakage, ultra-extreme DCR, and prowess in displaying super bright whites, ultra-intense blacks, and near-infinite color variations on the 250-nit screens. Graphs, charts, and fonts are consequently clean and crisp; video is smooth and vivid; and endless hours of Internet surfing are comfortable on the eyes without strain, flicker, or fatigue,” the press release notes.

BenQ takes special pride in its Senseye Human Vision technology, which dynamically adjusts the backlighting, the contrast and the brightness of the image according to the viewing environment. This enables a very high image clarity. The technology provides consumers with six preset modes that allow for one-touch optimization for a number of applications. These modes are Game, Movie, sRGB, Standard, Photo, and Eco. The last of these is “ideal in darker settings” and claims to save up to 65.6% energy consumption without impacting on image quality.

All models are equipped with D-Sub and DVI, with the 'H' displays also offering HDMI 1.3. Taiwanese stores will welcome the 18.5-inch, 21.5-inch and 24-inch V series LCDs during February, with the 23-inch scheduled for June.
