While news has been mostly revolving around the newly released NVIDIA-based video cards, or the upcoming chips from AMD, BenQ thought it would offer an update of its own, one regarding a certain 24-inch monitor.

Fortunately, there are companies willing to offer some variety in terms of news, which have been mostly dominated by the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580.

Granted, Advanced Micro Devices managed to deflect some attention away from NVIDIA with its various Fusion-related announcements.

Still, the web has more or less been lacking in terms of news or at least rumors of things besides the new high-end card or upcoming APUs.

Now, BenQ came to assuage this need by revealing that a certain monitor has made its way to European stores.

The monitor in question is the LCD (liquid crystal display) known as BL2400PT, whose screen diagonal measure 24 inches.

The product makes use of an anti-glare VA (Vertical Alignment) panel and boasts LED backlighting, which ensures a significant level of energy efficiency.

Said power efficiency is magnified by the Eco sensor and Eye-Protect sensor, the latter, as its name implies, also assisting in reducing eye strain.

As for actual specification, the native resolution is of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, whereas the dynamic contrast ratio is of 20,000,000:1 (contrast ratio of 3,000:1).

Furthermore, the GTG (gray to gray) response time is of 8ms, while the brightness is of 250 cd/m2.

Other assets include a pair of 1W speakers, a stand with tilt, height, pivot, stroke and swivel adjustment and multiple video outputs (DisplayPort, D-Sub, DVI).

European stores should start to list the 24-inch BL2400PT at 184.35 Euro, which is the equivalent of £159.06, or so they say.

Naturally, a first-hand view of any and all information available on the monitor can be found on the official product page located on BenQ's website.
