This weekend it was reported that Ben Affleck, the actor set to play Batman in Zack Snyder's latest project, was caught counting cards at the famous Las Vegas casino Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and subsequently given the boot. Reports also indicated that he was given a lifetime ban.

Today, those rumors are being denied by the casino bosses themselves, who have either had a change of heart or they never thought it was going to be good business to boot a Hollywood A-lister from their joint.

The bosses from Hard Rock are saying that “Mr. Affleck, a valued guest of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, is not banned from our property and is welcome back any time.” The report came after Affleck, a notorious card player was said to be having a very good night at the tables on April 29 and that's why he was politely asked to take his business elsewhere.

The actor hasn't yet made any comments on the matter, but it looks like the casino honchos were quick to respond to the claim and possibly nip this scandal in the bud. In Vegas, it's a known fact that a celebrity in your casino can significantly boost your earnings and that's why they are now being extra careful not to alienate the actor.

It's not clear if Ben was in fact caught cheating, but chances are that there were some less than straightforward card playing involved, since there were numerous reports on the matter, including an alert from a security firm who is tasked with making sure people don't cheat at the Hard Rock Casino.

This just goes to prove that celebrities can get away with anything, even cheating in a casino, something that is considered a very risky thing to do in a town like Las Vegas that thrives on people's obsession with getting rich quickly.

Affleck took a short trip to Vegas to indulge in his dangerous passion for gambling, something he actually received professional help for at one point, when it developed into an addiction. He is soon going to start filming on the superhero movie “Batman vs. Superman” and he decided that he needed to blow off some Steam.

Unfortunately, he managed to land himself in a spot of trouble and caught the attention of the press for all the wrong reasons. It's good to see that the casino bosses are taking his part on this one and allowing him to begin his Batman role on the right foot.
