Bad news for Canadian customers expecting to purchase the Motorola RAZR V and ATRIX HD LTE tomorrow, as major carrier Bell has quietly postponed the release of the smartphones.

Although both Android phones have been slated for an August 2 launch, Bell Canada decided to delay both handsets “to ensure complete channel readiness and national product availability.”

According to an internal document published by MobileSyrup, Motorola ATRIX HD LTE is now expected to arrive at Bell on August 21, while the RAZR V should hit shelved on August 3.

Fortunately, the RAZR V was only slightly delayed, so Motorola fans will be able to grab this one starting Friday, if all goes well.

Motorola ATRIX HD LTE on the other hand seems to be in short supply and the US-based handset manufacturer won’t be able to balance stocks until late August.

The main reason might be the fact that two versions of ATRIX HD LTE have recently been introduced in China.

Both smartphones will be powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform out of the box, but we don’t have any details on pricing options yet.

The ATRIX HD LTE comes equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 225 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

Motorola RAZR V is slightly less powerful when it comes to hardware. The smartphone embeds only a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1GB of RAM.

Each handset boasts an 8-megapixel rear camera and a secondary front-facing camera for video calls, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Another major difference between the two smartphones is the display. The ATRIX HD LTE sports a stunning 4.5-inch ColorBoost capacitive touchscreen display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, whereas the RAZR V features a slightly smaller 4.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen display.
