The wireless router market really is expanding, what with so many companies launching one or more such things at once, like Belkin just did.

Belkin introduced the N750 DB, N600 DB, N300 and N150 routers, which can perform data backup automatically (via an app), though their main asset is the wireless speed of 150 Mbps to 750 Mbps.

750 Mbps is a threshold attained by the N750 dual-band model, which has 300Mbps (on the 2.4 GHz band) + 450Mbps (on the 5 GHz band).

“As people add more connected devices to their home network and the demand for streaming high-definition movies, downloading music, playing games, and sending emails continues to increase, a router that can manage these connections is essential to unlock the true potential of your electronic family,” stated Mike Chen, Belkin’s general manager for Networking.

“Belkin’s newest routers are designed to give you the strongest Internet signal at the farthest distance in your home so your devices work where you live, not where your router lives.”

There are a lot of things that the newcomer can do, like detecting network problems via a self-healing app, operate on both bands at once (when applicable), stream wireless content throughout the house, back up files on an external HDD automatically, etc.

Of course, not all the routers can perform the full set of feats, since Belkin still tried to cover a wide enough price and functionality range.

That said, the N150 is the cheapest of the lot, at $34.99 (24.66 Euro), while the most expensive is the N750 DB Wireless Dual Band N+, at $129.99 (91.63 Euro).

Prospective buyers who want to get a better idea of what each router does needn't spend too much time going through Belkin's various web pages.

The company helpfully provided this comparison page, where every feature is listed in a comprehensible table. The speeds are detailed here.
