For only $130

Connectivity is very important. No, no, wait. Let me rephrase that. Connectivity is vital. That is a more accurate statement.

After Brando's 55 in 1 Bluetooth Card Reader and Hub, here's a more advanced device from Belkin, which takes wireless capabilities to a whole new level.

The Belkin Network USB Hub is designed to allow more computers to use one printer, one media reader or one external hard drive, but it's less important compared to how this is achieved. The hub connects to an existing router and allows up to 5 USB devices to communicate wirelessly with the computers in the network.

According to Belkin, the Hub simulates a direct USB connection that makes your computer think that the devices on the network are directly attached to the computer. Special caching techniques allow for support of high-speed USB devices and isochronous transfers at full speed. The software also allows you to easily transfer control of USB devices on the Hub between computers.

Belkin says that the Network USB Hub is ideal for households with multiple computers, but only one printer or scanner. However, since you can also connect external hard drives, it can be an ideal tool for backup operations.

Regarding user number, the device does support multiple users, but only one can be connected to each device at a time. This means that others will have to wait for their turn in order to use the device.

Unfortunately, although you might have hoped to use the hub for more demanding tasks, Belkin clearly states that it does not support some high-speed/high-bandwidth USB devices such as HD-streaming webcams or other video-transfer applications.

In conclusion, for a measly $130 you get a 5-port hub able to wirelessly communicate (you still need a router) with USB devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and this means you can quickly and effortless create a small network.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
