While laptop computers began to switch to widescreen displays, this trend is not as popular with desktop monitors. Most of them are too expensive, even if they offer workspace and are suitable for watching high definition movies.

Belinea launched their first LCD display in a widescreen format that is designed for home users. The price is also convenient, approximately US$580. Two color models are available: black and silver.

The display measures 474 x 433 x 218 mm, weighs 6.4kg and has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels (WUXGA). With a response time of 8ms, the monitor offers a 800:1 contrast ratio and the brightness levels of 300cd/m2.

Belinea's 10 20 35W can be mounted on a wall or on its height adjustable stand (100 mm travel) and has two integrated 2 watt stereo speakers. Also, it features one DVI-D input and a regular analogue video input.

The largest consumer LCD display is Apple's Cinema 30 inch display, that is priced at around US$3000, but it can be used with non Apple computers as well. This display has an amazing 2560x1600-pixel resolution that requires a DDL-compatible graphics adapters to use, so you should consider having such a card before buying it.
