14 DAY TRIAL // PopCap Games, one of the biggest casual gaming companies, has just revealed that it will launch Bejeweled 3, the latest iteration in the hugely popular match-3 puzzle game franchise.
PopCap hit big when it officially launched the first Bejeweled title, offering a new and fresh take on puzzle games, and really sending the casual segment of the market to new heights in terms of profit.
Now, after the release of Bejeweled 2, more than six years ago, the company will finally release another full pledged game in the immensely popular series, which managed to move over 50 million copies on 17 different platforms.
Bejeweled 3 will add in a lot of new features to the puzzle experience, as well as keep most of the trademark modes that made the title such a hit for all this time.
Four new game modes were added to the existing four, including Ice Storm or Poker, which reinterpret the Bejeweled experience, as well as a Quest mode that has 11 new mini-games totaling over 40 total quests.
“The challenge in creating a new version of Bejeweled is to innovate and keep it fresh and exciting without losing touch with the game-play that millions of people love. So we’re very careful when we make changes to the core game, which is why it can take so long!” said Jason Kapalka, co-founder and chief creative officer at PopCap and co-creator of Bejeweled. “We've worked hard to make sure Bejeweled 3 retains the classic appeal of the earlier games while bringing a host of exciting new features to the table.”

Bejeweled 3 will be launched by PopCap on its own website and several other game portals on December 7 in North American, Europe and Asia, as well as in retail outlets across America.
