Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia has revealed four limited edition PlayStation 4 home consoles, all of them themed with various designs from the upcoming Yakuza Zero.

The four different consoles feature laser-etched HDD covers, sporting some of the iconic imagery tattooed on Yakuza Zero's protagonists. The four consoles consist of two dragon designs and two demon designs, each of them featured on black and white versions of the PS4.

The four new SKUs are already available for pre-order on the Japanese Sony store, and are set to ship starting March 12, 2015. For the time being, there is no word on whether the designs will be made available in the west, but we'll keep our eyes open for any news.

In any case, should any of the designs strike your fancy, you should be able to get them on eBay, armed with some patience, of course.

Sony unveiled some new faceplates at the beginning of the month, featuring LittleBigPlanet 3 and The Order: 1886 designs, intended to enable gamers to customize their systems. The official faceplates are easy to replace and sport high-quality laser etchings, but you can also get some vinyl decals and plaster them all over your console to achieve the same result.

People have been doing that for quite a while, achieving amazing results and being able to adorn their computer entertainment systems with their designs of choice, without having to depend on the console owner's often sluggish response.

About Yakuza Zero

The upcoming entry in the popular Yakuza series was announced this summer, in development for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 home consoles.

For the time being, there is no word on whether Yakuza Zero will make to the west or not. Unfortunately for fans of the Yakuza franchise, the last two entries, Yakuza Restoration and Yakuza 5, have not yet made the jump, but the latter will arrive on the PlayStation 3 sometime during Q3 2015.

Sega unveiled Yakuza Zero during the 2014 edition of Tokyo Game Show, showing footage focusing on Kazuma Kiryu, the main character, during his formative years, back in 1988.

The Yakuza series is a sort of Japanese response to the wildly popular Grand Theft Auto franchise, offering players a ton of mini-games and open-world gameplay, complete with ample opportunities to break the law.

Yakuza Zero has no prospective release window apart from 2015, and Sega failed to mention whether or not it planned to deliver the game to Europe and the United States. Time to keep our fingers crossed.
