The latest issue of Shape magazine brings a photospread that Mariah Carey fans (the “lambs”) must have been expecting for a while, in which the diva shows off her post-pregnancy weight loss and flashes her incredibly toned abdomen.

Below is a behind the scenes video from the shoot, including footage from previous appearances Mariah Carey did as a Jenny (the former Jenny Craig) spokesperson.

There is no denying that the singer looks great, since she lost all the weight she gained while pregnant, but there's more to this clip than just her desire to brag about it.

Because she gained so much weight while with the twins and she had such a hard time to shift it, Mariah has newfound respect and consideration for anyone, woman or man, who manages to do the same.

Moreover, she knows the challenges women everywhere face when it comes to getting in shape, so she empathizes with them.

As she told Shape as well, before becoming pregnant, Mariah did not have that much trouble losing weight, since all it took was a stricter diet and lots of exercise.

However, the task at hand after she gave birth was one that could not be solved without some “outside” help, which was provided by Jenny.

“I put on 70 lbs [31.7 kg] but if you look at me in pictures you'd think it was more like 9,000 lbs [4,082.3 kg]. I have a lot of empathy with people who have to lose a lot of weight,” Mariah told the fitness-oriented publication, as we also informed you at the time.

“I've been there and I know what they are going through. I remember thinking at the time: 'I'll never look or feel the same again',” Mariah added.

“Pregnancy was probably the best and the hardest thing I’ll ever go through. I know for a lot of women, it can be wonderful and relatively easy. But for me, it was like 'Okay, honey, do you have to do everything the hard way?'” the singer said.
