Many updates, before and after the Engineer one comes, will shower the game

Valve is definitely a developer that likes to keep its fans really close. The way it achieves this is by constantly paying attention to what the community wants, while still balancing things evenly so as to not make its games reach for one extreme or the other. Left 4 Dead 2 started a bit of a ruckus, but it quickly fixed that by flying the boycott leaders up to its headquarters for a first-person view of Left 4 Dead 2, in its pre-launch status.

And while it may be sluggish getting Half-Life 2: Episode 3 out the door, another one of its titles is receiving more attention than a spoiled brat visiting the southern, cotton country house.

After the whole War update, the only class that has yet to be brought up to speed is the Engineer, and while Valve promises an update for him is on the way, it looks like there are other things in store for us before that. Whether or not they'll be bigger or smaller than the new addition we've already seen since the War ended, like the beta bots and the Contribute special, remains to be seen, but they are definitely on the way.

Via a Community Fortress interview with Robin Walker, Valve has confirmed these updates as having a bearing set and incoming. "We've got multiple updates in the works still, at least one of which will land before the Engineer pack," Walker said. "As always, we haven't planned too much out beyond that point, because we want to see what feedback we get from the community."

And feedback is something that Valve really took to another level with its TF2, especially with the War update, where players got to decide its outcome by the sweat of their brow and the skill of their mouse. And while waiting is always a torture, at least we know that Valve will be by our side every step of the way.
