The company presents new Wii brand

Everybody is preparing for the biggest game related event of the year, the E3, but when a major company has a different agenda, nothing will stand in its way - Activision, for example, has plans to create a brand focused on Wii titles only and they called it, pardon the expression, Wee 1ST. However, the brand's intentions are just to highlight the company's games that were developed for Nintendo's platform, so you can have your kids become more familiar with it.

The Wii Wee 1ST has been in the works at Activision for over one year and there are already a few titles scheduled to be released during the holiday season, including Little League World Series 2008, Rapala Fishing Frenzy and Dancing with the StarsTM: Get Your Dance On. Also, more games are set to be announced in the upcoming weeks, so we can say that Activision is planning to take over the Wii. But that's not a real surprise - everybody would love to get their sales as high as possible on the best sold console of the year.

"The Wii is introducing new audiences to gaming," said Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. "Clearly, the Wii's accessible controls are changing how the audience plays games and how we look at game design. This initiative is designed to showcase games that take full advantage of the Wii's capabilities."

And we are completely sure Activision did a great job in choosing the brand's name - we already love it here at Softpedia and we can hardly wait to see the national television and print advertising campaigns the company has planned to kick off this fall. It's going to be a true, real experience. Of course, there's also the realization that it's a shame Activision didn't manage to grab the recently announced Beer Pong and publish it under the Wee 1ST brand - it would've been the most hilarious thing of the year!
