As part of Computer Science Education Week, Apple will be hosting Code.org developers and engineers in stores located in select cities around the world to introduce attendees to the basics of programming.

Apple is supporting next-gen developers by hosting workshops at select retail stores during Computer Science Education week, which runs from December 8 through December 14.

On December 11, the Mac maker plans to host its own free, one-hour introduction to the basics of computer programming dubbed the Hour of Code. Sponsored by Code.org, the event will be held at your local Apple Store.

Over at www.apple.com/retail/code, Apple states its intentions loud and clear: “Computer Science Education Week is December 8–14. We’re supporting Code.org by hosting workshops and other special events at your local Apple Store. Join us on December 11 for the Hour of Code, a free one-hour introduction to the basics of computer programming.”

The site is specifically set up to allow everyone to select their state and store and see when they can attend the events. For example, at the Ginza Apple Store in Tokyo on Monday, December 8, at 7:00 p.m Flask founders Hideko Ogawa and Takako Horiuchi will relay to a small audience how they took interest in programming and UI design, what inspired them to start a company, how they came up with the idea for FitPort, and how they made it so popular.

At the Apple Store, North Michigan Avenue (Chicago, USA), cofounder and Chief Creative Officer of Touchpress, Theodore Gray, will talk about his own debut in computing, his motivation to make apps, and about The Elements, the app that practically gave birth to his company.

The Apple Store, Regent Street in London will play host to NaturalMotion, a development studio that churns out “innovative, ultra-high-quality games and products using cutting-edge art and design.” Here, attendees will get to listen to CEO Torsten Reil talk about the thrill of coding next-generation software.

And the list goes on

Other select cities where Apple will host brilliant developers and engineers include New York, Berlin, and Osaka.

On the same site, the Cupertino company offers coding resources for anyone who wants to get started with Xcode in advance. Also, interested parties can learn more about coding with a free collection of apps, books, podcasts, and iTunes U courses, all provided for free by Apple.
