Nothing is better than a piece of furniture that literally screams originality, geeky art and an environmentally friendly attitude. If you think the same way, here's something that might be perfect for your living room.

It's called the Zen Table and was created by Simon Hallam on an idea he came up with in 1997.

It's basically a coffee table slash piece of art that combines IT know-how and woodwork to create the impression of a Zen garden right in your living room.

The glass table is filled with a sand-like material through which a sculpting head roams free, guided by a small computer, creating incredible patterns and designs.

As Hallam says in the video below, this is a coffee table that you could spend hours just looking at it – and yes, it's very eco-friendly, since the wood is sourced from sustainable supply channels.

For the time being, Hallam is looking for investors in his project, hoping to bring the Zen Table to homes, hotel rooms or offices from around the world.
