Adam “Ad Rock” Horovitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond have just made it very clear that they have no plans to start making music again after the death of band member Adam “MCA” Yaunch in 2012.

The group, which has been making rap music for decades, is not going to continue its activity, Mike D was the one who has made the confession during his recent testimony in the lawsuit against energy drink company Monster.

“We have not been able to tour since MCA, Adam Yauch, died,” he has told the judge and has added that “We can't make new music.” For this reason, he has pointed out that, when Monster used their song without their authorization, they basically took money from them.

The Beastie Boys member has also revealed that they were offered a lot of money to have their song “Sabotage” featured in the movie with the same title featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, but they refused, according to AceShowbiz.

“It felt like too much of an endorsement,” Diamond says. “We weren't fans of Mr Schwarzenegger's recent... work.” The musicians seem to have predicted correctly because the movie basically flopped once it hit theaters earlier this year.

Now, the remaining two members are taking up their grievances with energy drink company Monster, which used one of their songs in an ad, without their permission. Beastie Boys are asking for one millions dollars in damages, and another million for the “implied” endorsement.

As a response, the energy drink company admitted to the copyright infringement but insisted that they should only pay a quarter of the required sum.
