Just recently, a fin whale found itself beached in Cornwall, at Carolyn Bay. Locals and conservationists joined hands and tried to help the animal safely get back to the sea, but soon enough vets concluded that the whale had no chances at survival, because of the extensive injuries it suffered.

Therefore, it was agreed upon that little could be done except put the animal to sleep, so as to keep it from experiencing any more pain.

There is still no explanation with respect to how and why the fin whale became sick, but the fact remains that its body was simply too weak to make a successful recovery.

Faye Archell from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue explained how, “It is incredibly under nourished and has a very high breathing rate which suggests it is very sick and distressed.”

Given these arguments, perhaps it is indeed best that the animal was put to sleep.
