A new star has been officially attached to the much anticipated female “Expendables” film, which is now in the works at production company 1984 Private Defense Contractors: Katee Sackhoff, whom fans will recognize from “Battlestar Galactica.”

Sackhoff plays Starbuck on the recent version of “Battlestar,” but she’s also been seen on “24” and “Bionic Woman.”

She will be on the big screen next, before the aforementioned project, in “Riddick.”

Variety confirms the casting, citing producer Adi Shankar as saying that choosing her, like Carano before, was a no-brainer.

“If you spend five minutes with Katee it becomes blatantly obvious that she would pwn most male action stars,” Shankar says.

Dutch Southern is handling the script but, as of now, no director has been announced as attached to the film.

Variety also says that “several prominent actresses affiliated with the action genre continue to circle the project,” which should mean more announcements will be coming soon, so make sure you keep an eye on this space.
