Battlefront, Matrix Games' and Strategic Studies Group's (SSG) award winning WW II turn-based strategy game, is getting itself a new tournament. In The Market Garden Tournament players will be showing off their strategic prowess, giving fans the chance to win a variety of prizes. Participants must register in SSG's Run5 Battlefront forums to secure a spot in the event.

"Market Garden is an enormously engrossing scenario which will give even the most confident strategists a run for their money," said Gregor Whiley, Vice President of Strategic Studies Group. "I truly can't wait to see how players will deal with the tough decisions that will come their way over the course of the tournament."

Battlefront is a game of battalion-leveled combat, giving the player a chance to experience true issues of command, control, sighting and supply, emphasizing tough decisions to make. Players also have full control over the off-map movement of their units, something not possible with your average turn-based-strategy game.

Combat takes place in some of the most bloody and intense conflicts of WW II: Saipan, Market Garden, Novorossisk and Gazala. Players will have realistic control over their soldiers, with a tactical scale just large enough to make a difference in the strategic picture.

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, stated: "Battlefront has kept WWII strategy buffs busy for quite some time now. What better way to reward the game's fans and top players for their commitment than to give them the perfect venue to show off their skill, and win some cool prizes in the process."

OK, we get it but what exactly are those prizes? Not saying what the prizes are sounds like T-shirts and making-of-Battlefront CDs to me.

See the official Matrix Games website to get more information, while more details on the Market Garden Tournament and rules can be found on SSG's forum.
