Visceral Games and EA's latest entry in the popular Battlefield franchise is apparently suffering from widespread connectivity issues.

The first-person shooter puts a twist on the franchise, replacing the military setting with the urban war on crime, enabling users to play either cops or robbers in a variety of environments, with a wide range of appropriate mission modes and objectives.

The game also offers a single-player campaign that was modeled after various high-profile cop show dramas. If you want to learn more about the game, you can check out our review of Battlefield Hardline.

In any case, everyone knows that the Battlefield series, just like Activision's Call of Duty franchise, is all about the multiplayer, and if that doesn't work, it pretty much means that the entire game doesn't work.

Unfortunately, since the title's release two days ago, numerous players have been reporting issues, stating that the game servers are down, impacting their gameplay experience.

Hopefully things will get sorted out soon

Now, people are regularly posting on Reddit, reporting that the Battlefield Hardline servers are not available. The issue is seemingly affecting players on both the Xbox One home console and PlayStation 4.

Publisher EA has stated that the Xbox Live network experienced some troubles after suffering a DDoS attack, which has since been resolved, and the company has stressed that it is aware of the newly emerged connectivity issues, and that it is doing its best to solve the problems.

The company went as far as to perform a worldwide server reset, on both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, hoping to solve some of the connectivity issues.

Battlefield 4's launch at the end of 2013 was considered a disaster by pretty much everyone, with many long-time fans of the series being unable to play the game for weeks, and with the servers being unstable for months.

EA vowed to never repeat that unfortunate situation, and the fate of the entire franchise might be riding on how well the company manages to take care of the business. The publisher lost a lot of goodwill from the community after BF4 was released, so now it would be the best time to show that it can handle the massive number of players flocking to play the shooter.
